Tonight, the Patriots came
to Arrowhead Stadium with a gleam in their eyes. They had
read the predictions by Sham, and was out to prove that his
prognostication abilities were right on the money. As the
game began, they hit the gridiron with a zeal not
here-to-fore seen in them yet this season. Within the first
two minutes they had their first touchdown and extra point
on the books.
But, not to be outdone, the
Chiefs came back, and by the end of the first half, had
taken the lead 10-7 with a field goal in the last one second
of play. In the third quarter, the Patriots were able to
score a second touchdown, but the Chiefs came back with
another field goal. The game was nip and tuck throughout,
with neither team being able to get a commanding lead over
the other.
The fourth quarter began,
with the score being Patriots 14 and the Chiefs 13. Shortly
after the fourth quarter began, the Patriots slammed a field
goal home, bringing the score to 17-13. This brought new
life into the by then weary team, and they were able to
stave off any attempts by the Chiefs to get to the goal
line. FINAL SCORE: PATRIOTS 17 to the CHIEFS 13.
The Patriots were only able
to gain a total of 198 offensive yards during the game, and
the Chiefs were held to a total of 154. The Patriots were
not penalized once during the game, and the Chiefs were only
penalized once for a 5 yard penalty.
