St. Louis (May 4, 2000)
The worst team
on paper meets the best, but I guess thats why they play the games.
With all odds against them the Browns showed the Rams just what they
thought of the infamous home field advantage. Calling tails on the coin
toss and coming up short was about the only thing that didn¹t go the
Browns way.The game was primarily a defensive battle with a scoreless
first quarter. The Browns did score on a quick strick one play drive
Detmer(5-12 98yds 1TD) to Johnson for 34 yards after an interception.
The Browns forced many problems for Kurt Warner and company coming up
with 3 interceptions and 3 sacks by sick different players, including
one that lead to a safety, the next play with a buck fifty eight left
in the half. The Browns leading at the half 9-0. The Third Quarter was
uneventful with the Brown tossing a pick and neither team scored. Kurt
Warneryds 1 TD) threw a bomb to Issac Bruce(207 yds rec) that
eventually lead to a score early in the Fourth Quarter. The forth started
with a St Louis Score and two point conversion but thats all they could
muster. Detmer conected to Smith(62 yds) to seal the victory with a
30 Yard Field Goal with the game ending in an 8-12 Browns Victory. Cle
