Process For Nationals VI
Starting with Nationals VI, leagues will now be able to bid for
the right to have their league host the Madden National Championship
as presented by The MWS, and ThePFL.com. Leagues that wish to
host the tournament should be prepared to make their presentation
at the Nationals V MWS meetings held Friday, July 11 at 3:00 PM
at the Intercontinental Hotel, host site of the Nationals V games.
Leagues should also be be prepared to present the following information:
- Host hotel - Official contract proposal from hotel to serve
as host to Nationals VI.
- Cost Factors - Detailed cost for meeting space rental, hotel
room cost for the ballers, cost for phone 1 phone line or high
speed internet access for the hotel ball room. Hotel ballroom
must be at least 4000 sq. feet and must be reserved for a 24
hour hold from Friday AM to Sunday at 11:00 PM.
- Additional incentives, such as free breakfast, cocktails,
added amenities, etc...
- Ballers transportation cost - Approximate cost for shuttles
from the airport, hotel distance from the airports, estimated
cab fare etc....
- Potential attractions, nearby points of interest.
- Security plans - At least two armed police officers, and 4-6
security or event staff personnel in place. Event staff does
not have to be professional security agency however, but must
be in radio contact with armed officers. Host leagues will be
responsible for security cost.
- Sample air fare cost for coach fare tickets with minimum 7
day advance purchase from at least 5 markets representative
of the ballers participating.
Leagues are encouraged to present a proposal that would be attractive
to the ballers in terms of cost, safety, and convenience. Leagues
are also encouraged to present plans that are rich in quality
yet economical and beneficial to the Nationals planning committee.
We will be looking for cost effective plans, that the ballers
will be able to afford and will keep the Nationals expenses budget
from soaring through the roof.
Leagues that wish to submit their proposal should Email their
intent to the MWS Executive Board no later than June 1, 2003 if
they wish to be included on the agenda. Any request afterwards
may not be considered.
