Tillery
Bows Out In Final Four
MWS Superman Lou Tillery ran into some kryptonite Sunday
in Dallas as he fell in the final four to Coach Cliff 28-23.
"I'm not one to complain," stated Tillery after
the loss. "But I had at least 12 dropped balls in the
game," Tillery remarked. "I give plenty of credit
to Coach Cliff, he played a great game, and I'm not taking
anything away from him, he played very well, but it was
disappointing to me to have so many drops in a game at crucial
times. I really feel that I could have made plays or sustained
drives that may have changed the outcome of the game."
However, that would not be on this day as Tillery was denied
what would have been his 6th major tournament win. Despite
the loss, Tillery is looking forward to Las Vegas. "It
was a great tune up for Vegas," stated Tillery. "You
have to know that with online play the way it is, that the
gap is going to close in terms of the competition,"
Tillery continued. "That's why I think Nationals will
be extremely difficult to win this year.
And Tillery may be prophetic in his statements. Given the
fact that a year ago Candyman and Trapjaw were completely
dominating King Of the Couch tournaments, this year is different.
Trapjaw was knocked out of the tourney prior to the final
four, while both Tillery and Candyman were eliminated in
the final four.
Coach Cliff went on to defeat Coach Wayne in the championship
game. It was Coach Wayne's fourth consecutive appearance
in the title game, and he has yet to come away with a championship.
