Checkers restaurants feature a limited menu of high quality hamburgers, cheeseburgers and bacon cheeseburgers, specially seasoned french fries, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches as well as related items such as soft drinks and old fashioned premium milk shakes. All food is made fresh to order and is sold at everyday low prices.
Ninety-percent of all Checkers Drive-In Restaurants were built at Checkers' Champion Modular Restaurant facility. Modular structures provide a uniformly appealing street presence for each Checkers restaurant.
The double drive-thru concept allows Checkers to capitalize on the fact that approximately 50% of all quick-service food business is drive-thru. Checkers customers can also enjoy a 1950's flashback with walk-up ordering and outdoor dining in the picnic area outside each Checkers location.
Checkers has approximately 450 stores across the United States. Ownership is split evenly between company-owned locations and franchisees. These stores are operating in the states of Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington D.C. Checkers is also gaining an international presence with eleven stores in Puerto Rico and one in the West Bank. The location in Ramallah, West Bank is the only wholly owned Palestinian quick-service franchise in the region.
