Each week during the 2003 high school football season, the
Buccaneers will select one high school football head coach as their Coach of
the Week winner. Each recipient receives several items and privileges,
including a certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and
Buccaneers General Manager Rich McKay and Head Coach Jon Gruden, a $1000
donation to the school's football program from NFL Charities, a Buccaneers
Coach of the Week hat, recognition on the Buccaneers website and the
opportunity to attend a Buccaneers regular season practice session.
Several factors are taken into account when selecting the Buccaneers Coach of
the Week recipient, including the coach's impact on his team, school and
community. The program is designed to recognize high school coaches who
transform, through their hard work and dedication to young people, the best
available athletes into high potential football players.
All schools in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee and Sarasota are
eligible regardless of size, league or division.
