| Niners Start Ugly Again
The question for Wayne Allen
before the season was would the Niners cut down on the mistakes
they made last season that caused them to get off to a 0-6
start. The answer is in already. No!
Allen has
picked up unfortunately where he left off last season, 0-2
after two weeks, including a 49-0 shellacking suffered at
the hands of DWilly's Bears.
The Niners
troubles are two fold. First, turnovers at crucial times in
games, and two, a lack of balance. While the Niners are a
decent -1 in the turnover ration margin, the fumbles or INTS
have come at times where momentum shifts to the opponents
favor.
The lack
of balance comes in the offense, where not only could their
be better balance between the running and passing game, but
there could be better distribution in the passing game. While
Terrell Owens had a monster game vs. John B's Rams catching
7 for 220 yards and 3 TD's, no one else on the team caught
a pass in the Niners 38-21 loss.
As the Niners
get deeper into the season, Allen will need to get the ball
to the other playmakers on offense, especially when facing
some of the more savvy veterans of the MWS.
This week
Allen takes on fellow PFL local brethren Teddy B who is off
to a hot 2-0 start with the Browns. Allen feels as though
facing Teddy B is like facing Joe Hilton. Allen has owned
Hilton, another local player that he faced in the PFL Online
last season. And when Allen needed a win last season to get
off the schnide, it was Hilton, who had a better record, that
was upset by Allen.
Allen is
facing a similar scenario this week when he faces Brown. "I
like my chances against Teddy," Allen stated confidently.
One thing
for sure, Allen will need to show Brown some new looks this
week. These two go at it on the regular, so Brown will be
ready for the T.O. and company show. The way to break Brown
and his Browns, will be to break his will with a power running
game, mixed with Barlow and Hearst running outside and between
the tackles.
Allen and
Brown have met 10 times in the PFL with the series tied at
5-5.
