Choke, Blow Lead
It seemed
as though all Dallas had to do was play conservative and not make
any mistakes and they would hold on to the 10 point lead and perhaps
pad the lead in the fourth. But that was not the case as the start
of the fourth quarter saw Vinny Testerverde connect on the big play
to Dedrick Ward and Troy Aikman force a pass to Emmitt Smith that
was picked off a returned for a score. Dallas went from being up
10 to trailing by 3 in the span of less than a minute. The Pokes
drove right back to take the lead on the ensuing drive 35-32 inside
the 3 minute mark, but Poon came right back and hit Ward again on
a 1 play 76 yard scoring strike to Ward to take the lead for good
39-35. Dallas had one last opportunity to make another run, but
Poon converted on a 4 and 6 at the Cowboys 40 and followed to run
out the clock. The Jets now move on to face #1 NFC seed Jacksonville.
