Hines
Takes Charge Of PFL
6 year PFL veteran
David Hines was elected the fourth commissioner of the PFL at the owners summer
meeting held in September. Hines has been an active member of the PFL since
its 3rd season. Hines served as Deputy Commissioner the past two seasons to
Teddy Brown who decided not to pursue a third term.
Hines brings into
office with a new board that consist of 35 years of combined PFL experience.
Keith Salley, now entering his fourth year in the league was elected as Deputy
Commissioner. Ed Hayward brings 8 years of PFL experience to the office of Executive
Director. PFL founders Wayne Allen and The Swammi bring 9 years of experience
each to the table serving as Executive Board Member At Large and Secretary respectively.
Hines predecessor,
Teddy Brown had served the league for the past two years as commissioner. "I
think I'd like to sit back and just enjoy the league now," stated former
commissioner Brown. "I'm looking forward to being able to just come and
plug in my controller and play, and not have any other responsibilities. I know
we are in great hands with Hines. So, now its all about enjoying the league
and sharpening up my game."
Hines has already
committed to taking up where Teddy B has left off, in an effort to keep the
league going to a higher plateau. Some of the things Hines will be addressing
over the next few weeks will be organizing the By-Laws revisions committee,
revamping the policies and procedures of the screening committee along with
chair Tony Womack, and setting the table for the 2005 PFL season.
Hines meets with
his new board for the first time in December when the annual Winter Executive
Board Meeting takes place. No date has been scheduled as of yet for that meeting.
