1997 Experimental Season. When The Swammi, Tony Womack, and Wayne Allen brought in 9 other members to form the PFL as we know it today, it was just after PFL Superbowl I. Allen defeated The Swammi to win the very first PFL crown. Since THE LEAGUE had one Superbowl championship already in that same year, they agreed to play another season as the PFL, but it would be as an experiment to see how the big new league would work.
