Brown Takes Over As Deputy
Commissioner
Teddy Brown may very well be wearing two new hats when the PFL
2002 season starts. It is already a given that Brown is looking
to return to Pittsburgh next season. If he does, he will be sitting
the deputy commissioner chair, the second highest officer of The
PFL. Brown was elected to the post after Tony Womack opted not
to run for a third term. "I think it's time for some of the
other ballers to step up and take the lead," states Womack.
Brown served on the PFL competition committee since 1997, and
has spent the past two seasons on the PFL Executive Council. Womack
had served as Deputy Commissioner since the leagues inception
in 1997.
Brown Ready
For Challenge
Brown's new
role is no big change for him. "It's now more of a title,"
stated The Swammi. "Teddy B! has always worked hard for The
PFL and the Nationals Community. He now has the title to give
him more notoriety. But as far as work behind the scenes go, Teddy
B! has done it all."
Brown is a charter
PFL member, joining the PFL in 1997. He started in Cincinnati
and took the Bengals to the first PFL expansion Superbowl. He
became known as one of the colorful outspoken members of the Madden
Community in the late 90's after traveling to the west coast as
the PFL ambassador, challenging ballers all along the coast.
What's In
A DC?
The Deputy Commissioner
of The PFL chairs the competition committee, in addition to serving
as Parliamentarian at PFL events. The DC is also the commissioners
chief advisor. "We couldn't have picked a better person to
replace Tony Womack," The Swammi stated. "Brown has
been a credit to the PFL, and he has contributed immensely behind
the scenes to help Nationals become the success that it is. I'm
looking forward to working with him in the future."
