DRAKES PRIMETIME PLAYERS

Warren Sapp on PS2 Madden 2001 what Ray Lewis was in the NFL in 2000......unstoppable.

Money Players!
While some teams have two or three big play guys, Tampa Bay is loaded. Count on Drake to use them to the fullest.

Running Game

Warrick Dunn - Mostly sweeps and tosses. Drake will use him inside occasionally. Drake likes to hit him in the flats as well, or deep down the center of the field when matched up against a linebacker.

Mike Alstott - The battering ram. Dives and leads all the way. Too slow to take it outside. Bug lethal off tackle on strong dives or right up the gut. Short yardage situations for Drake will be a cinch with Alstott.

Passing Attack

Shaun King - Don't let the average player ratings mislead you on this one. Excellent scrambling ability can buy time to hit the speedy receivers down field. Accuracy is not great, but is good enough for him to be effective if used properly. Can thrown the ball deep, but is not the classic mad bomber type. Quick passes are his specialty.

Keyshawn Johnson - Early season MVP candidate. Will catch nearly anything thrown his way. Versatile receiver that has an excellent lateral as well as vertical game. Will draw double coverage alot, leaving slot receivers and backs in man coverage. Great hands and good speed. Look for Keyshawn to catch a lot of balls this season.

Jaquez Green - The speedster. In the slot he will be deadly against a linebacker or safety if Drake uses him in this capacity. Drake likes to go deep to Green on Fly routes or post corners. Putting Anthony at the Z and Green in the slot couldup the Bucs offense even more.

Reidell Anthony - The third receiver in this nasty trio. Anthony has the burners also, just not as fast as Green. He has good hands as well, and can go deep.

Karl Williams - Watch out for this guy...especially in a 5 wide package. He can hurt you while concentrating on Johnson, Green or Anthony. He has good hands and good speed.

Dave Moore - Great pass catching TE. Excellent possession receiver. Has the size to punish DB's after the catch and speed to out run some linebackers. Complements Drake's coaching style very well.

Defense

Warren Sapp - You have to start with Warren Sapp. Drake will move him around to wreak havoc on opposing offensive lines. Sapp pancakes nearly every OL in front of him. You have to double team this guy plus keep a back in to protect on passing downs. This frees up other guys on the line like Ahanotu, Culpepper, McFarland.

Derrick Brooks - The Bucs linebackers are collective one of the best on the game. The speed of Brooks, Quarles, Duncan and Gooch allows Drake to sit back in zones and watch his speedy LB's with high awareness break on the ball and make plays. Brooks, Quarles and Duncan can run with nearly and WR, with Gooch being the slowest of the four.

Abraham & Barber - Solid corner play with high awareness. They react so quick to the ball, especially when a receiver appears to be These guys break on the ball and will one hand pick you, and take it to the house. Opponents will have to read the defense carefully and pick and choose when to take their shots.

Robinson & Lynch - FS Damien Robinson is another one of the savvy Buc defenders that will make plays for Drake. Robinson's lateral movement to the flats, and his vertical movement to go deep and play a WR makes him difficult to throw towards. He has the speed to get out in the flats and cover those pesky SE slant type plays. With John Lynch on the other side, the two make an excellent pair of safetys. Lynch doesn't have the speed or covering skills of Robinson. But he makes up for that with solid hits, jarring the ball loose and punishing receivers. He also plays the run as good as any safety in the game.

Special Teams

Where can you go wrong putting either Johnson, Anthony or Green back to return kicks and punts. Speed Kills! Grammatica will be the difference in several close games this season for Drake, as he will need solid defensive performances playing Jacksonville, Minnesota, San Francisco, Green Bay as well as division foes Buffalo and Carolina. Those teams can light up a score board quickly. Here Drake will need solid performances from his special teams, and I think he will get it.
