Nunez
Trying To Better Last Years Effort
David Nunez fits right into the category that Tony Womack spoke
about in his article. The kind of baller that enjoys the competition,
tries hard each week, yet takes on the chin continuously. Nunez
is tired of being the laughing stock of the PFL, and he showed that
last week with his shocking upset of the Patriots. Now, Nunez must
find a way to get a couple of more W's in the win column to improve
on his rookie effort of 1-15. Prior to joining THE LEAGUE, Nunez
attended nearly every game of the 1999 season as a spectator. He
would make the 35 minute commute to Bru's room from Miami, just
to watch all of the games. At the end of the '99 season, Nunez threw
his hat in the ring and apply for the PFL Giants. Since then, it
has been an uphill struggle to gain respect, and wins. The ballers
simply look forward to playing him, whether it is to pad their stats,
or just the comfort of knowing they will have an easy game on Sunday.
Nunezd a few eyes with his big win of Tony Gray, but he went
on to lose to Zo's Colts the following week. If the Giants are going
to earn the respect of some of the ballers, they will have to put
more than 1 or 2 wins in the win column per season.
What's next for
the G-Men? Things don't get easier. Nunez has Teddy B and Ryan Collins
on the docket, then come the Vikings and the Bucs. It is still a
long road ahead for the Giants but who thought they would defeat
the Pats? There could still be some shockers ahead.
