| Salley hopes Bledsoe can bring him to the promise
land.. |
Keith
Salley has to be mentioned as one of the top players in the league.
This rookie has played solid football all season and has already qualified
for the playoffs. With a division title out of reach, Salley will
be fighting for playoff positioning. Currently, Salley is sitting
at a number three seed for the playoffs, but a late collapse could
place him as low as number six. As we all know, having home field
advantage, is vital during playoff time and Salley cannot afford to
lose the ability to bring his opponents into icy cold Buffalo for
the early playoff rounds.
Salley has two tough games remaining on his schedule before finishing
the season with the doormat Dolphins. The Bills will face off against
two teams that are fighting for their playoff lives in the next two
games – the Packers and Jets. Both of these games will be very
tough for Salley to win. Each opponent has the skills and personnel
to match up against Salley’s audible-down style of play which
has become more and more predictable as the season has moved on.
Although
he needs to win as many of his remaining games as possible before
the playoffs, Salley should also use these games to experiment with
a few new wrinkles to his offense prior to the playoffs.
BARTON'S PREDICTION:
Salley will pull out wins against the Packers and Dolphins, but
does not have enough versatility to beat the Jets. Salley is projected
to finish the season at 10-6, earning him a number three or four
seed in the conference playoffs.
