Will
The Real Barton....
| |
 |
| Dell Barton has made it to the conference championship
two years in a row. |
Will the real
Dell Barton please show up? Coach Barton has been unable to put together
multiple quality wins all season. While Barton has the lowly Lions playing
respectable ball, he has lost his place among the elite ballers of the
league. Barton simply cannot compete against the likes of the Steelers
and Saints who stand in the way of his attempts to make it to his third
consecutive conference championship game.
Barton’s issue is his lack of any resemblance of a consistent running
game. Although Barton has a deadly passing attack, his running game does
not strike any fear into his opponents. Unlike within recent versions
of the Madden game, where a pass happy baller like Barton could throw
effectively on every down, this year’s game requires a more balanced
attack. With the Lion’s lack of speed in the backfield, Barton has
not shown the ability to break-off big running plays on a consistent basis
forcing him into a one-dimensional offensive attack has become very easy
to defend.
Although Barton is pretty much a lock to secure a playoff position, his
chances of winning the division are slim. In order to win the division,
Barton will need to win all three of his remaining games and hope for
at least one of his division foes to pull off a victory against Wayne
Allen’s 49ers. All three of Barton’s remaining games are against
division rivals and in two of his games, revenge will be on his mind.
Both the Rams and the 49ers handed Barton his most embarrassing and disappointing
losses of the season. The question of the week is: Will Barton have enough
firepower to avenge these losses???
PREDICTION:
Barton will win all three of his remaining games, but Allen’s 49ers
will hold on for the division title. Lions will finish 10-6 earning a
#4 seed in the playoffs.

Barton's road to
a third consecutive conference championship will be extremely tough
in the closing weeks, especially facing Teddy B, and Wayne Allen down
the stretch. |
