Their Own Worst Enemy
| |
 |
| Stewart, stellar in 300 yard, 3 TD performance. |
Brian Bond
is on a four game losing streak. This late season disaster has certainly
made the Steelers hopes for a playoff berth all but vanish. A month ago
Bond was 7-3 looking to take control of the AFC North. After 4 straight
losses, the Steelers are 7-7 and in jeopardy of not making the post season.
With two games remaining vs. Carolina and Tampa Bay, Bond can mathematically
still get in. But he would need a lot of help from Cleveland and San
Diego. The Browns will clinch a berth with two wins, and San Diego
gets in with one more win.
Swammi's
Mid Term Report Card
The
Steelers have managed to quietly stay right in the thick of things despite
a couple of disappointing losses to Oakland and Cleveland. Brian Bond
has the team playing well and consistent for the most part, but his biggest
question is whether he can finish better than the Bengals down the home
stretch. Bond gets to answer that in his next game when he faces T.O.
In a meeting that could swing the momentum in the AFC North. A Bengal
win could give T.O. a commanding lead in the AFC. A Steeler win keeps
them in the division race. And with Jacksonville
and Carolina remaining on the schedule, the Steelers margin for error
is growing smaller and smaller.
Grade: B-plus. (First-quarter: B-plus; Midseason: B-plus)

Steelers |
7-7 |
Four game losing
streak for the Steelers has basically cost them a shot at the playoffs.
Although their chances are slim to still get in, the season is virtually
over for Brian Bond. |
