| Tampa Electric has supplied the Tampa Bay area with electricity since 1899. Its West Central Florida service area covers 2,000 square miles including nearly all of Hillsborough County and parts of Polk, Pasco and Pinellas counties. More than 550,000 commercial, residential and industrial customers depend on Tampa Electric for reliable power and value-added energy services.
Peoples Gas, acquired in 1997, is Florida's leading provider of natural gas. With a presence in most of the state's major metropolitan areas, Peoples Gas serves over 250,000 residential and commercial customers. The company has served Florida for more than 100 years. A recently completed major expansion to Southwest Florida is just one part of the company's continued growth.
TECO Transport, a water transportation business, operates a U.S.-flag oceangoing fleet, a river barge fleet, and a dry-bulk commodity transfer and storage deep-water terminal. TECO Transport built its business on moving coal and other energy-related fuels via inland rivers through the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean for worldwide markets, including South America, Asia and Europe.
TECO Power Services (TPS) builds, owns and operates electric generation facilities and electric distribution and transmission facilities in the United States, Central America, and Mexico. TPS's generating units include the Hardee Power Station in Florida and two facilities in Guatemala. Hemisperic alliances include a consortium that owns Central America's largest electric utility, Empresa Electrica de Guatemala, S.A. and an investment in Energia Global International, Ltd., which has given TPS stakes in four power plant projects and one electric distribution company, all situated in Central America. Worldwide, TPS formed TM Power Ventures with Mosbacher Power Partners to develop power projects, such as the Commonwealth Chesapeake Power Station, a 312-megawatt generating facility being built on the Delmarva Peninsula in Virginia. TPS also announced a 50 percent interest in the Hamakua Energy Project, a 60-megawatt generating facility in Hawaii. In total, TPS has net ownership interests in 1000 megawatts worldwide, in power plants under construction or in operation.

BGA implements energy conservation initiatives for commercial, institutional and governmental facilities throughout Florida. |
