Fox goes to Green Bay

Look for PFL champion Kevin Fox to go with the Green Bay Packers for the 98 season. Fox made the season after the 97 season exercising his right as stated in the By-Laws as champion to choose any franchise that is not currently owned. Early in the season the Packers were being reserved for Doug Farrar who opted not join just prior to the start of the regular season. Green Bay will be hard to beat this year with Favre and Levens and Freeman as potent offensive weapons. The Pack also have a stingy defense as well. Look for Fox to be as competitive as he was last year.

Allen, Womack, Hilton Remain - Gresham, Barrow Questionable

A horrific season in Oakland has Alvin Barrow contemplating whether or not he will return to the PFL to coach the Oakland Raiders. Barrow after being asked his PFL plans for 98 stated he had not decided whether or not he plans to continue. Though he has been playing some exhibition games with Hilton and Charles and Brown, he has not yet purchased the 98 version on the game. If Barrow did not return it would be a huge disappointment to the league as he is one of the class gentlemen of the PFL.

In other AFC news, Allen, Womack and Hilton are expected to remain with their respective teams and return for another exiting season of 98. Meanwhile, there has been no word on the intentions of Wayman Gresham and whether or not he will return to St. Louis next year.

Drake May Sit Out

After a successful year at Carolina, Kwon Drake may sit out a year of PFL action to pursue attaining a high degree in Education. Drake is currently in school pursing his Master's degree and contemplating not participating this season because of the time commitment. Drake is another class act the PFL would hate to lose. However, he did state he will be reserving the right to the Denver Broncos until the league gives him a deadline in which he has to make a final decision.

Charles, Smolka, Rubio Back for 98

Brown Questionable

Teddy Brown, scheduled to be married in September, has also contemplated not returning to the PFL. If the league doesn't complete play before the end of June, it may be impossible for Brown to participate. The executive Council is currently discussing starting the season as early as March or April to compensate for Brown This should not be a major issue as many teams have expressed interest in getting it on before June as voted on by the league in early fall.
